Hope

Hope is more than just a catch phrase such as, "Well, I hope so."

Hope is a settled state of mind that guides our daily life and provides a confident assurance in something or someone.

In Christ, our hope is in the assurance that I am heaven bound and that my Savior is watching over me every day.  I have a heavenly outlook that is present with me everyday.

No matter what you are experiencing, there’s always HOPE when Christ is your Lord and Savior.

HEAVENLY - Hope begins when our heart is focused toward heaven.
  • Deuteronomy 4:19 - and lest you lift up your eyes unto heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the host of heaven, thou be drawn away and worship them, and serve them, which Jehovah thy God hath allotted unto all the peoples under the whole heaven.
  • John 17:1 - These things spoke Jesus; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the son may glorify thee:

OUTLOOK - Our outlook on life brings cheerfulness and an endless banquet of nourishment, and good health.  My outlook comes from my up-look.
  • Proverbs 15:13 - A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance; But by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.
  • Proverbs 15:15 - All the days of the afflicted are evil; But he that is of a cheerful heart hath a continual feast.
  • Proverbs 17:22 - A cheerful heart is a good medicine; But a broken spirit dries up the bones.

PRESENT - Don’t wait until tomorrow to enjoy your relationship with your Savior.
  • 2 Corinthians 6:2 - (for he says, At an acceptable time I hearkened unto thee, And in a day of salvation did I succor thee: behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation):
  • Romans 15:13 - Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • 1 Peter 1:8 - whom not having seen ye love; on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
  • Judges 1:24 - Now unto him that is able to guard you from stumbling, and to set you before the presence of his glory without blemish in exceeding joy,

EVERYDAY - Walking with the Lord is not a part-time experience; it is something we experience daily.

  • Deuteronomy 6:24 - And Jehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Jehovah our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as at this day.
  • Proverbs 8:30 - Then I was by him, as a master workman; And I was daily his delight, Rejoicing always before him,

  • Psalm 78:14 - In the day-time also he led them with a cloud, And all the night with a light of fire.
